RADULPHUS DU PLESSIS , cir. 1130
Posted by: Ruth Anderson (ID *****9047) Date: May 23, 2006 at 10:55:54
  of 260

Searching for the ancestors of Radulphus duPlessis, born 1130 in Normandy, France. Father of William Seigneur duPlessis who was father of Jean who married Christiana Sanford in 1230.
They had Robert de Plessitus and this is where the last name seems to begin to change.
Robert married Ela Basset and had at least four sons, William being my direct ancestor.

The name changes again with the next generation and becomes
de Pleistede. Soon this family is living in Castle Coombe and Mildenhall, Wilts. Eng where the last name becomes Plaisted. My imigrant ancestor (Roger Plaisted) settled in Dover, NH.

Any help going further back in this line will be greatly appreciated.

TIA,
Ruth
