I just saw your messages. I do better than checking the PRDH, I check the parish records and notary records.
I have copies here of all the events I found regarding my ancestors and family. Let me find them and I will scan it and post it here.
First I can tell you that Jean-Baptiste and Françoise Lacerte never had a son named Jean-Baptiste. They had Charles Baptiste, Charles, Joseph and Isidore bot no one was baptised Jean-Baptiste. One of them was married under the name of Jean-Baptiste. We know it is not Isidore and it is not Charles.
When Charles Baptiste was bapized, the priest did not even write the family name. He said today has been baptized Charles Baptiste Baptiste, son of Jean Baptiste and Françoise Lacerte. No mention of Duplessis, it is like the last name was Baptiste or like if Jean-Baptiste had no family name.
Second, I never said that I had found the marriage of Joseph and Josephte Turcot. What I said is that there were children of Joseph and Josephte Turcot. I believe the one who was married under the name of Jean-Baptiste was the one baptized Joseph.
When Louis Gatineau was married, all the important people were at his marriage. I believe that at the baptism of his grand-child, there would have been people important, at least himself.
Third, the parish record of Yamachiche, 26-2-1781 does not mention Baptiste Jean Charles Noble Duplessis, it says only Jean-Baptiste Duplessis.
It may take a couple of weeks but I will find the copies among the hundreads of documents I have here and as I said, I will post it here.
The parish record and the notary record in April 1740 when Jean-Baptiste and Marie-Françoise Lacerte were married say about Jean-Baptiste: Whose parents are unknown. I think, if he was Louis Gatineau adopted child, it would be mentionned. Louis Gatineau was somebody very important. There was nobody of Jean-Baptiste's family present at his marriage. it is mentionned.
After you see the parish records, let's continue to exchange our information. I find it very interesting.
