Dear Mark,

I can't tell you how wonderful it was to get your response. You have allowed me to solve a 25 year old puzzle, at least for me. I have been trying to discover Frederick's ancestors for that long. It was a lot of fun in 1974 and 1975 to travel up through Van Buren and then on to Quebec with my cousin James Gagnon, all the while stopping at churches or the homes of local people tracing my French ancestry. Unfortunately many things have happened since then that prevented me from continuing my research. I just started again and just cannot believe how terrific the Internet has been, but it ultimately cannot beat the fun of being on the ground.

Also, I would like to thank you for answering my inquiry even though I made an error on who Clarisse Duplessis-Sirois married--it was indeed Joseph Ouellette. I had just been going through the Jean Levasseur Family Forum and had him on my mind.

Many, many thanks again for taking the time to respond.

I'll be checking through whatever books I have from the 70s that might help on the family tree you have posted. I do have a set of volumes compiled by Father Ernest Lang who was at St. Basile NB; he was quite old, perhaps 80s, when I met him around 1974, but what a wonderful priest.
