Nate and Elizabeth (my great great grandparents) were evidently unusual people. One diary talks about their love of books, and we know they espoused abolition when that was unpopular in central North Carolina. Their unmarried daughters were eccentrics, and their son Benjamin (my great grandfather) was a mechanical genius of sorts.
I am doing some family writing and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has stories of Nate and Elizabeth from the days of their marriage (1854) and on. Does anyone have anecdotes, pictures, memorabilia, or the like I might include in some writing I am doing for the family.
