Elizabeth DuPuy and Samuel Rouzee (Rowze)
I have to say that a lot of information has been posted on this site since I last looked. I can't wait to see what the new research effort concerning Bartholomew's wife will bring to light. The story of his escape was handed down in our family as well.
I'm looking for information on Elizabeth (Betsy) DuPuy and Samuel Rouzee. I have a listing for a marriage record in Woodford Co., KY, dated 10 Apr 1796, married by Rev. Jas. DuPuy, and I've found that Elizabeth was b. 4 Sep 1780 in Powahatan Co. VA, d. 24 Jun 1811 in Henry Co., KY. Does anyone know where they lived and had their 7 children or how Elizabeth came to be buried in KY?
I'm from the line of their youngest daughter Mary Rouzee, who married Robert Owens. I have no dates or specific information on Samuel or the Rouzee's, Robert Owens, nor solid info on Elizabeth's mother, Elizabeth Minter.
As resident on the west coast, where colonial information in local libraries is somewhat limited, I'd be really grateful if someone would point me in the right direction as to where to look next. Or, perhaps someone already has parts of this documented in their family lines? Thanks!
