Hi Tom, Thank you for your response. I am interested in the Duracks as my son-in-law is a descendant of Michael "Stumpy" Durack brother of Patrick "Patsy" Durack. I have gotten caught up in the Duracks.
The information you gave me I have heard before and have tried to research it. I have found a Patrick Durack wife Mary Delany with son Thomas but this Thomas did not marry Mary Mason. Marys, Patricks and Thomas are very common in the Durack families so I am sure there can be another Patrick and Mary with a Thomas. Where does your information come from? Also, you mentioned M P Durack's diary making note that he is not sure about their relationship. Where were you able to access his diary? Also, was it M P's diary that noted the death of Thomas Durack. The only Thomas I can find dying in Western Australia in 1902 Parents Jeremiah Durack and Margaret unknown. The dates for this Jeremiah and Margaret don't fit with Jeremiah Darby Durack and Margaret Kilfoyle Durack. I understand he died at sea but the death would have to be registered somewhere and I would assume it would be Australia.
I have Mary Durack's books "Kings In Grass Castles" and "Sons In The Saddle". I understand she took some liberties with the facts. I also have the book "Tom & Jack" by Geraldine Byrne. She has recorded Thomas Durack, son of Jeremiah Darby Durack as have dying in 1902 but no references for the death.
I would just like to know who Thomas's father was and be able to back it up with facts. I have found Fanny and Frank's other siblings. They came from a large family.
Are you related to the Duracks?
