Hi Elizabeth
The Durack's come from a place in East Clare
between Scariff and Mountshannon on Lough Derg Their homeland is at the base of the Cappaghabaun Mountain. If you can get hold of "Kings in grass castles" written by an Australian Durack it might help some. Being the organised genealogist i am i can't place my hands on it at the moment!! My g/g grandmother was a Durack (either Mary or Margaret)who married a Thomas Minogue and died before 1855. I'm just back from there and the records dont start until 1864, so its hard work ahead of us!
