Here is some information on land records I gathered at the Geneva Co. Courthouse and Panther Creek Cemetery yesterday. Transcribed from recordings, so probably not exact spelling & punctuation. --Amy

Panther Creek Freewill Baptist Church (CR 62 north of Slocomb)
Tombstone of William Y. Durden—born March 26, 1811—died February 11, 1893. The concrete tombstone is broken over and near the head of the gravestone of “Babe—wife of L. D. White” in the back corner of the cemetery parallel to the church. Beside is a similar concrete tombstone with the name Elizabeth Collins. Both are extremely worn and do not appear to be near the actual burial locations.

I would like to know where the cemetery is where you found the other W.Y. Durden. Our William Y. Durden had 3 sons(John, Mack, & Washington) and two daughters(Bethany Ann Savannah & Matilda)
Our line is through William Young Durden's daughter Bethany Ann Savannah Durden (her father loved Savannah, GA). You can see a message on her posted by Joan at the Durden Page at rootsweb [http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.durden&m=219]
Please e-mail me if you would like to exchange more information.
