JABEZ DURFEE (Sr.) IOWA 1867 or KANSAS?

I would like to settle whether Jabez Durfee (Senior) died in
Iowa or Kansas. Some group sheets I have consulted on line show him dying in White Cloud, Mills Co., IA, and others say White Cloud, Doniphan Co. in Kansas. Reed's "History of Thomas Durfee" says IOWA.

I find Jabez in 1860 Census in Iowa: Fremont Co., Fisher Twp. I find his widow, Sarah, in 1870 Census, Iowa, Mills Co., Indian Creek Twp. This supports the idea of him dying in Iowa.

But, some researchers show Jabez' previous wife Elizabeth
Davis as dying in 1876 in Doniphan Co., KS, White Cloud twp.
I found her there in 1870 Census as "Elisabeth Brackenbury", 79 years old, living with son John W. Brackenbury, his wife Samantha and their five children. This Brackenbury family is not in Doniphan Co. in 1880 Census.

None of the sources I have consulted on-line show Jabez Senior's marriage to a Sarah Lincoln which took place
on 25 December 1859 in Mills Co., Iowa. They are shown
in 1860 Census as husband and wife.
