Yes, we must be related. The name is odd enough and rare enough that probably everyone in the metaphone index if they are from the general area are related. By tradition our family originates in France and moves to Germany first, then emigrates out of rotterdam to philadelphia in 1764. There is an earlier branch of Duffords who settle in New Jersey - I'm sure we're related to them too!
