William W. Durgin of Orono, ME
Posted by: Martha Story-Foisy (ID *****2978) Date: September 27, 2007 at 09:35:36

Does anyone out there have William W. Durgin, born abt 1815 in NH, in their file? This William married Lydia Sleeper Weeks, dau of Levi R.Weeks, in Orono on Oct 8 1840. There were no other Durgins in Orono at the time.
The Weeks family hailed from Gilford NH and came to Orono in 1835 according to an Orono history. Also, according to the same book, William W. Durgin left Orono, with many others, in late 1851 to search for gold in California. His wife and children stayed in Orono. Any help in connecting this William into the Durgin line would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks, Martha
