OK, this Nathaniel Durgin (1753-1812, son of Jonathan Durgin and Judith Edgerly) is supposed to have left his wife Elizabeth Hartford for another woman, an Esther Palmer. (BTW, I have no proof of her name, and would love to know if someone else has found something.)
But, I found this searching through old newspapers.
from Phenix (NH newspaper) 5/31/1792:
Whereas
Elizabeth, the Wife of me the Subscribs?, has Eloped from my Bed and Board; This is to caution all persons not to Credit her on my account, as I shall not be answerable for any debts by her contracted.

New Durham, April 17, 1791.
So, who left who? And where did Elizabeth go? If anyone has any thoughts or info on this couple please let me know.
