Hello Kelly. I have been researching the Durgin's since 1984. With hundreds of hours of research under my belt and trips all over the country (and to England as well)I've heard that William Durgin had also been married to Martha Cross. However, I've not been able to prove it. The William married to Martha supposedly was in Ipswich, Mass. at the same time the William who married Catherine Footman was in Oyster River (Durham), N.H. Pretty unlikely he could have been both places at the same time. Since I've accumulated the names of hundreds of descendents of William & Catherine, I believe this William is the progenitor of the Durgin family. Thanks for your input. P.S. If you're interested I can send you an invitation to join my Durgin Family web page. Perhaps you can find other Durgans there. If interested contact me at
