Helen D. Wilson

OIL CITY, LA - Helen D. Wilson, 86, of Oil City, LA passed away Monday, September 14, 2009, at North Caddo Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Evans-Richie Cemetery in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Frank Carroll. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday the 15th from 6-8 PM at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian.

Mrs. Wilson was born November 28, 1922 in Flora, Illinois to Howard and Mary Durham. She has been a resident of Oil City since 1946. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Oil City. Mrs. Wilson loved to read and loved books, she used this love as she worked as a librarian at the Oil City Branch of Shreve Memorial Library for many years. She was a member of the Oil City Sorosis Club of many years. She also loved to sew.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Frank N. Wilson, her infant son, Steven Wilson, her daughter, Sandra Farley, and her brothers, Hodge and Carl Durham.

She is survived by her children, Sharon W. Owens and husband Ronald of Oil City, LA, Diane Bridges and husband Billy L. of Vivian, LA and Robert H. Wilson and wife Judy of Bellefontaine, OH, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Gorsulowsky Funeral Home
