Charles Durkee in Illinois circa 1865

I am trying to find out more about a Charlie/ Charles Durkee who lived in Alden Township, McHenry Co, Illinois or close to there. He is mentioned in a written memoir as "Uncle Charlie" to Frederick Silas Baird.

As Frederick Baird's father Silas was from Vermont (either Goshen or Chittenden) I was searching for the connection in the 2 families.

I have a Caroline Melissa Durkee married to Wolcott Jr. in 1861. She is the daughter of Nathan Durkee (b. 1795) and Mary Biglow. I do have information on Nathan's family -but can find no Charles.

Thanks for any help.
