I'm trying to research my father's side of our family. I once read part of a book at Yale University Library on the genealogy of the Dorland / Durling clan & read a page concerning the Durling family in Alma, Michigan. I thought this page might have some relevance to my father's history. My father was reputedly born in Clare, Michigan in 1891. I remember traveling with my father once to Kalkaska, Michigan so he might have childhood memories from there.
