This Eli was a son of John and Diannah (Jennings) Durnel.

John and Diannah had no son Henderson.

John's Bible was found a few years ago and he listed all his sons in the Bible. No Henderson so he was likely a nephew to John, cousin to this Eli.

This Eli married Hannah Huff, apparently a widow as she was a daughter of Peter Gallimore.

He went to Missouri in the 1850s. Brother Andrew J. apparently went with him.

Only James, son of John, memained in Carroll County and all Durnels there today are descendants og his son William.

Since James and Eli did not go to Mo. until the 1850s, the question is WHICh Durnel went to Carroll County, Mo. in
1836 with the Jennigs. Whoever that was was likely the father of Henderson. He should be on the 1840 Carroll census.
