I believe my gr. grandfather was a Durney. American citizenship papers and sale proceeds after his brother's death have the surname Durney. Somewhere along the way it was changed to Dorney. Patrick Durney was born in 1865 in County Kilkenny. He had a brother named James and four sisters, one named Margaret. Patrick and his sisters came to American in 1876. From the information I have, which is limited, Patrick was from Gerryduff in the southern part of County Kilkenny. I think his father's name was Denis as I have found only one birth record for a Patrick Durney in County Kilkenny in 1865. I would love to find out more if possible.
