I saw this posting about the Durnils of Carrol county, and wondered if your William Durnil son of James and Phoebe, could be my ancestor. My William Durnell was married to Catherine as was yours, and the birth and death dates are about right, but my famiy has always believed that William came here directly from England or Scotland prior to his marriage, and that he died in Philadelphia of illness while on a business trip in about 1810.Then Catherine Richardson Durnell took her children, James, Hiram, and Sarah, and moved to Ohio.
Do you have any more information?
Thank you
Nancy Riggs
