I have Edward Durnin b. 1829 in Ireland; was a brother of my 2nd-great-grandfather Charles Durnin. I found Edward and Mary J. (Smyth) on the Wawanosh West, Huron North, Ontario 1881 Census. With children:
James, 20
Rebecka, 17
George E., 14
Robert R., 12
John S., 10

I don't know if they had more children. Charles and Edward's parents were Charles Durning and Eleanor Elliott of Garrison, Fermanagh, Ireland. Their other children were Helenor, William, Alexander, John, and James. It's possible Thomas is one of theirs. I don't have the whole history. They all came to Canada in 1845. Incidentally, Charles' wife, Rebecca, and Edward's Wife Mary J. were sisters.

Hope this helps. Anne
