Hi: I think Patrick Durnin and Ellen Durnin are my great grandparents. My grandfather was Joseph Fleming. His birthname was Joseph Durnin. Patrick and Ellen (Carr) Durnin came over from Ireland and lived in South Boston. They left a child in Ireland (Gertrude, I think) and were going to send for her but never did. They had 3 more children, Joseph (my grandfather) Nellie (Eleanor) and Rose. The 3 children were all placed in "The Home for Little Wanderers". I assume the Mother died and I believe Patrick "drank". My grandfather was adopted by Anna and John Fleming. I never knew if the girls were adopted but Nellie later married George Lundgren and lived in South Boston and Lowell and Rose married a man named LeBlanc and lived in Lowell. Please let me know of you think this is the same family you are inquiring about.
