Hi Yolaine, if you go back to the previous page to #292 it will give you all I had at that time. I have been able to find both the Slife and Durrett familys in the 1880 and the 1870 census in Texas. In the 1880 census my g grandfather was living with his parents, the family was listed as John M. Durrett 68, wife Frances C. Durrett 62, son Henry C. Durrett 28 widowed, my gg father Richard E. Durrett 24, GDau Mary F. Terrell, GSon James C. Durrett, and other Mary P. Haney. I went to the LDS family history center and the ladys helped me look for the family in the 1970 census with no luck. They were in Wise Co. in 1880. I came home and back to my Mac that i'm used to and found John M. Durrett in the 1860 tax lists for Tarrant Co., the 1855 Tarrant Co. Jurors List, and found him in the 1870 census list of head of households. Richard's future wife was living in Grayson Co. Texas with her younger brother, sister, and widowed mother. Louise Slife's parents names were Gustavus A. Slife and Sarah S. Thompson. The various states listed on the census were VA. TN. KY. TX. IL. NC. SC. and LA. One last note I have found 3 Slife's from Louisiana that fought on the Confederate side one listed as G. A. Slife but I'm not having much luck finding the Slifes in the 1860 census. Ron
