Recently purchased a booklet "Frontier Times" which has a two- page article on Col. John Durst (bn: Missouri Feb. 4, 1797---d: Feb. 1851 in Galveston, Texas).

(This article is entitled, "Interesting Life Story of An Early Texan, written by Mrs Mary E. Lesene, Hennessy, Texas)

Marriage date to Harriet M. Jamison was February 21, 1821
in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Col. Durst was reared by Samuel Davenport.

Also lists Col. Durst's children.

Much information given about his travels, political life, protection of home/friends. Very interesting.

We will respond to messages posted.
