Hello, My name is Rachel Dutcher and I am currently studying in the Netherlands and trying to do some more research on our ancestry. My family has traced back our earliest ancestor to Johannis Dutcher, b. 1775, d. 1830 and his son Dan Dutcher, who lived in Michigan, Born 1798 Died 1894. We believe that Johannis might have lived outside Michigan somewhere, but we are not sure where...our family is also connected to the Revolutionary War solider Captain William Dutcher. Dan Dutcher and William Dutcher are both on the Dutcher Family website that I came through to get to this forum. However, They do not appear to be listed in the extensive list of the first Dutchers. Where do these two people fit into the Genealogy of the family? If I can get that information I can connect my family to the proper line of the Dutcher clan, and I would be very grateful to anyone that could help me do that! Also - I had a question. At what point did the Dutchers immigrate? On the top of the websites description of the First Dutchers, it says that the list is only the Dutchers in America, but halfway through the list where De Duyster becomes the last name there is a note about it being an immigration mix up. Did the Dutchers immigrate with the first people with the last name De Duyster or did the Van Hardeens come to America first? Thank you very much for your time and I would appreciate any information that anyone could give me! Sincerely, Rachel Dutcher Notify Administrator about this message?
