Hi Lorraine

We appear to have a problem. As William is not an direct ancestor of mine, his brother Alexander was, I have not obtained his death certificate. However, in the 1951 census he is recorded in the Parish of Maryton with his wife Isabella 34 born Craig, Archibald 7 born Craig, Isabell 5 born Dun, William 3 born Maryton, David 1 born Maryton and he is 35 years of age and born St Cyrus, which ties him in as being the son of Archibald and Mary Warden. In the 1881 census he is recorded as resided at Burnhead Croft House, St Cyrus along with his wife Isabella and grandson William 4 born St Cyrus. (I have not as yet, ascertained the parents of this child)

This information would appear to contradict your information re his place of birth.
