Hello Alex - I am Alan Colin Duthie in Christchurch, New Zealand. Some of the place names you mention in your letter sound familiar from some old information I have. The places are Fettercairn, St Cyrus, and Lawrencekirk.
On 24th November 1850 my Great Great Grandfather`s forthcoming marriage to Mary Ogilvy was proclaimed thrice in the Fettercairn Parish Church. The marriage took place at Lawrencekirk. On the 24th July 1853 they had a son, William Ogglevie (or Ogilvy?), registered at St Cyrus.
Maybe this another branch of the family, or perhaps there is some connection?
Colin Duthie
