Hi Stewart

With only one child recorded from the marriage of James Duthie and Elspet Clark there is always the possibility that Elspet died and James remarried either Jane Kessie or Isabel Anderson, although Debra Duthie, Australia, who has researched the James and Isabel Anderson marriage has no mention of this in her family history. She also only gives the following children Isobel, 1805, Ann 1807, James 1809, John 1811, William 1813, Alexander 1815, Margaret 1819 and Mary 1822, so it is possible that James 1807 (he died 14 July 1808 from measles according to the Anesfhs Burial Index) was the son of James and Jeane Kessie.

Regards

Alex.
