Hello, My wife's ancestor from Aberdeen was D. Sim and he was Master of the Barque Ariel which sailed to the Cape of Good Hope in 1861 and possibly 1848/58. She was built by the Duthie shipyard. There are Sim's in Cape town and my wife's Grandmother was Elizabeth Sim in Johannesburg.
