As far as I know at this point, my Duthie family are not directly related to those of the ship building family of Aberdeen City. My great grandfather, John Duthie of Aberdeenshire, was listed as a sea captain who perished at sea and he was married to Jean Sim but I have not researched the Sim family except to be leaning toward Jean's being the daughter of William Sim and Rebecca Ritchie. All these surnames seem to be rather popular in Aberdeenshire.
