Can anyone out there help me find my direct line to the Shipping Duthie family ?
I have traced my Duthie's back to James Duthie /Christian Smith at Netherley, Kincardine.I feel sure James's parents are James Duthie/Helen Sutor.
The interesting thing is that James and his Descendents all use the name Crombie Duthie which again brings me back to the Shipping Duthie's.
Elizabeth Duthie married Alexander Crombie 1799. Elizabeth was the daughter of Alexander Duthie/Jean Pollock.
James's son Alexander Crombie Duthie was a great one for names and here we have Brown,Taylor,Burnett and Massie, some of whom I think are connected with William Duthie/Jean Thomson's children.
My connection with the Duthie family is that my Great Grandmother was Jessie Duthie, daughter of George Duthie and son of James and Christian Duthie.
I am also trying to find 2 of Georges children John Duthie and Robert Duthie born between 1835-1849 probably Kilmallie.
Can anyone put me out of my misery please?
