Hi Rupert
Many thanks for your reply.
I certainly will get back to you when I am able to confirm my direct link to Crombie and hopefully the Shipping Duthie family.
My James Duthie 1779 had 6 children. The Wright in his name pertains to working within the Shipping Industry I understand. George was a master Mason, Alexander Crombie Duthie a Master Carpenter.
George had a son George who Immigrated to Australia. Robyn there tells me that the family seldom saw her father on weekends and holidays as he was building a boat. He was in his mid fifties when he finally launched it. It was a 40ft concrete hull cruiser and he sold it once he finished it and sailed it down the river once. I wonder what made him do it.
I will continue my search in hope and anticipation.
Joan
