Dear Kathryn,
James Duthie was born in Kirriemuir in 29 august 1849 at Westmuir the son of David Duthie(b. 1822) and Margaret Reid.
He married Jane Boath in Forfar in14 June 1872 and had one son James born 1876
his father James however died between 1876-79 as his mother jane had remarried to james Munro 28 may 1880 and had a daughter Isabella M. Munro in 1881
I do know that Davids father was David as well and married Isobel Grant age 100 in the 1881 Census. This David was born @1794 probably atAirlie parish Although rest of generations back from there were from Hirdhill.
