I may have found the origin of the name Duttry. Website worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com has a family page entitled Schwenk, Stout, Moyer, Naugle, Goodhart, Latshaw & Allied Families of PA. It shows as follows:
George Philip Dodderer b. 1679 Europe died 1741 Philadelphia Co(Now Montgomery Co),PA
Son: Conrad (Dettra/Dotterer) Dodderer b. 1712 d. 1801 Montgomery County, PA
Son: Abraham Dotterer b. 1760 d 1814
Son: Conrad Dotterer b. 1793 d. 1875
Son: Jacob Duttry b. 1828
I found this info while looking into the George and Marion Dutty family in the DuBois area. My family has always said our Duttry branch was related to George's branch but no one knew how.
It is interesting to note that Abraham Dotterer had a sibling named Christian Duddarer born 1733. I'll just bet that he is an ancestor of our Christian Duttry who was in the Sabula area in the early to mid 1800's. In answer to your query, I do not know Susannah's (Christian's wife) last name.
Let me know if you stumble on anything else about the Duttry name.
By the way, the George Duttry family also shows the same links to all the Plantagenet royalty and assorted English aristocracy just like us through the Henry Percy/Elizabeth Mortimer line back to Henry II and Eleanor of Aquataine. But they do not show us on their family history except for my Uncle Larry E. Duttry who is currently married to Ruth Duttry (daughter of George).
I'm starting to think the rumors are right and everyone in Sabula is related.
