I want to say THANKS to you and everyone that have contacted me in reference to the DUTY family and their Descendants. I personally am only related by marriage. I am elected to do the Internet researching, but my husband helps me with the footwork searching since it is his blood relation. Now, about TEAGUE DUTY or his 1st name could be spelled other ways such as: TEAUG, TAGUE, TAGEU, or TIGG. This is my husband's gr-gr-grandfather who was married 1st to Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Smiley and 2nd to her sister, Sarah Jane (Smiley) Grant. We have searched the Illinois and Indiana areas and have been unsuccessful in locating records advising the parents of Teague Duty. The Posey County, Marrs Township, Indiana 1860 Census showed North Carolina as Teague Duty's birth place. Do any of you researchers have any additional information pertaining to the parents of Teague Duty? We would love to know the names of his siblings too. Finding this information would certainly make my husband and father-in-law extremely happy. Please email me with any information you have about this family.
