Come One, Come All!
We're calling all Dutys to participate in the DNA project, find someone else to participate or just become part of our community for the DNA project and genealogical group. There are lots of interesting things going on right now!
Especially with Duty, Duthies, etc., there are many questions that need to be answered. And we have the Scotland DNA!!! Come on out and do your part!
First of all, we're on the web @ www.doty2doughtydna.com and there are lots of pics and genealogical and dna information there. We are also @ the Yahoo doty2doughtydna community, which is a group for everyone.
We have Doughtys and Doty/Duttons that match PED's DNA in the South. We appear to have a mutation in PED's son John using the 25 marker test, but there is still a mystery to be solved there! Many of our testees have moved on to the 37 marker test, so we can identify lines. We are CHANGING genealogy as we speak, that is, we are refining it and finding out the real truths.
We've also found several other families that aren't related to anyone else but are in the same areas. Hmmm... Oh, and the Rev. Francis Doughty's DNA does NOT match Edward's DNA, so there goes that myth:). Rev. Francis' haplotype is G2, coming out of the eastern Mediterranean and possibly a sign of the Roman Empire and its subjects. Hmmm...
Now, we've got to keep on going, getting at least two testees from each line and helping all those with brick walls. We're also headed for the homelands. We need folks to help identify early families overseas and find testees there too. It takes a village to have the type of success this group is capable of producing!
I hope lots of Doty-Duty-Doten-Doughty researchers join us. Let's be a model for all DNA projects. Step up to the plate, folks!!!
Visit us on the web at http://www.doty2doughtydna.com/ (my mom is the cute Addington-Doaty girl with her hand on her hip:)). And definitely join us at the Yahoo Doty2Doughty community forum @ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/doty2doughtydna/
Come on, folks. It's time to kick it up a notch. If you're not there, well, you're just square <grins>.
