Dear Dennis --
I don't have the address of Crossroads Cemetery on hand, but I know it can be found easily on the internet or on the Williamson County genealogy site. Or it would be in the local telephone directory (white or yellow pages) which is also online if you have the zip code.
I have two sets of ancestors in this cemetery -- not only Grant/Duty people, but Henry Tuggle Lee and his family are there, because they married into the Grants. They came from Goochland County, Virginia, went to Tennessee, and ended up in both southern Indiana and Williamson County, Illinois. This is why I have wanted to go to the annual Grant-Lee Family Reunion at Shawneetown for so long, but have yet to make it to one.
I do know that Wyatt Grant outlived Elizabeth Duty, but I am not sure if she is buried in Indiana or Illinois. As there were more than one Elizabeth Duty, it gets confusing also.
As I mentioned in my earlier posting, I would love to find out if Wyatt and Elizabeth were the first in Posey County, Indiana, and if everyone met up with them there. I would also love to know why they chose this specific place, and I was wondering if the nearby religious community of New Harmony might have had something to do with it. I may be a tad off on the dates for that place, but it is awfully close.
Thanks for your interest, and happy hunting. -- Bonnie Long
