I am looking for info on John and Lucy duty. John Duty served in the 9th calvary CSA. John was born abt 1832 and died a pow in illinois in 1865 at Rock Island Prison. Lucy and her three sons (John jr, Richard, and William) moved out of Smith Co. TN after the 1870 US census. according to my grandfather John jr's daughter Mary(Duty)Aldridge had told stories of her uncles Richard and William(Bll) being in the blue uniforms and calvary type hats when they she was young, but I am not sure if they were in the US calvary in the late 1800's. My grandfather recalls some of the Dutys living in the Paducah KY area. Any info on Lucy (Brown) Duty or her three sons would be much appreciated.
