Ronnie Runyon

Ronnie Joe Runyon, 53 of Delbarton, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

Born Dec. 6, 1956 at Elk Creek, he was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Runyon, brother, Charles Floyd Runyon, and life long companion, Betty Jo Hudson.

Survivors include his father, Joe (Rachel) Runyon of Columbus, N.C.; daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Dean of Delbarton; sons, Bobby (Angel) Hudson of Somerset, Ky., Ireland “Binky” Hudson of Delbarton; brothers, Melvin (Kay) Coburn of Lenore, Bear (Brittney) Runyon of Logan, and Todd Hatfield of Varney; sisters, Dorothy (Moose) Bell of Varney, Roberta (Kurt) Kahlston of Stuart, Fla., Nancy (Calvin) Case of Herndersonville, N.C., and Amy (Justin) Runyon of Columbus, N.C.; five grandchildren, Robbie Evans, Kelli Spaulding, Brian Boyles, Robbie and Taylor Jo Hudson and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at Chafin Funeral Home at Delbarton, Saturday, May 1 at 12 p.m. with special singing by nephew Charles David Mounts. Rev. Adam Hall will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Curry-Farley cemetery at Elk Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home Friday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home.

Chafin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
