Hello Tom:

I haven't been on this website in years, but your queries interest me. My GG is one John Dwane whose parents were Mary Mahoney and John Dwane Sr. Siblings were Thomas, MArgaret, Mary, Timothy, Elen, Michael, Honorah (in no order). They arrived from Mitchelstown, County Cork in 1857, and settled in Montreal, where Thomas and John were shoe manufacturers. John Dwane Jr. married Mary Conway and had one daughter, Alice Frances Dwane, my Grandmother. Does any of this information ring a bell? I know how hard it is to find the link to an area in Ireland, and I virtually junped for joy when I made contact with Clare McCombie, Elen Dwane's grandaughter, who had that gem. Hope this helps,

Maureen Bond
