I have Dwyer ancestry from 1830s Kilcommon parish, Tipperary. Will try to put on a good show.

I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN parish, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).

For Michael Dwyer B 1825 +/- 4 yrs in all Ireland with a father named Patrick, I found 0 1B rcds: 1821 KIL, 1821 TIP, 2-1823 TIP, 1823 LIM, 1826 KIL, 1826 LIM 1827 LIM, and 1829 TIP. Note 3 may apply.

For Michael Dwyer M 1861 (exact) in Doon, Limerick, I found 1 M rcd as advertised.

For Honora(h) McInerney M ditto, I found ditto.

For Cath(erine) Kearney B 1791 +/- 4 yrs in Co. Limerick, I found 1 B rcd in 1788. This MAY be for your ancestor. If so, it is one of the oldest rcds I have found.

For Cath(erine) Kearney M 1811 ditto, I found 4 M rcds: 1811 Kockainey & Patrickswell, 1812 Charleville, 1814 Knocklong & Glenbrohane, and 1815 Galbally & Aherlow. A view of the detailed rcds SHOULD show the groom's name, parents' names, and other details. There are also rcds in 1816 and 1818. If the same parents' names are found here as on the B rcd, this will validate the B rcd.

For Mary Dwyer B 1824 +/- 2 yrs in Limerick with a father named Patrick, I found 1 M rcd in 1826

For John Dwyer B 1821 ", I found 5 B rcds: 2-1830, 1831, 1832, and 1833.

For Bridget Dwyer B 1835 ", I found 5 B rcds: 1833, 2-1834, 1836, and 1837.

For Julia Dwyer B 1837 ", I found 1 B rcd in 1826, not 1837.

For Pat(rick) Dwyer B 1841 ". I found 8 B rcds - you count them.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
