Paul, I love this story! My Dwyer ancestors were from Turraheen Lower which is literally next to Rossmore. They also left in 1848. Odds are that we are related somehow. Would you mind sharing with me the names of your Dwyer ancestors? I have never heard this story but I will ask some relatives if they have heard this one. I met a 4th cousin last year who may be familiar with this! What years did your Dwyer come to St. Louis to visit his cousin? There were only a few Dwyer families in St. Louis in the 1840's and 1850's. If you could send names and dates, that would really help! Thanks for responding! Tina
