Of course, you are right it is New York. The actual book title is, "Johannes Dyckman of Fort Orange and his Descendants" this is volumn 1 by Marjorie Dikeman Chamberlain. It was printed in 1988 by a Daamen Inc. I have tried to reach Marjorie by mail at the PO Box that is listed in the book but my letter was returned PO Box closed. Marjorie lives or did live in East Poland, Maine. There is a Library of Congress number 88-092677 and the ISBN 0-9621789-o-x. It is a well documented book and I was able to trace my whole family tree back to Johannes in 1651 when he came from Amsterdam. He was sent by the Dutch West India Company as a vice Director of Fort Orange. This gives all of the five generations. If I can be of further help do not hesitate to E-mail me. I do work so only have the evenings to devote to my new hobby of Family Tree Maker.
Thank you so much for replying so quickly.
