I believe I have found the Charles Barber, and it is possible he is the father of Thomas Dye by Sarag Dye out of wedlock. There were two Charles Barbers living in North Farnham Parish, VA in the earily 1700's. Charles Barber Jr. born 11 Aug 1704 in North Farnham Parish, North Farnham, Richmond county, VA and died 24 Nov 1726. I believe him to be the father of Thomas Dye born 1721. Charles Dye Sr. born 19 June 1676 in North Farnham Parish, Farnham, Richmond County, VA , married Mary Glascock and died 27 Nov 1726 is Charles' father and the one I believe paid the Bastard Fine. Jr was about 17 and living with the parents next to Sarah Dye's family. It would have obligated Sr. to pay the Bastard Fine for Jr. sense Jr. was still under his household.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~barberfamily/vabarbers.htm put in search Charles Barber and look for the VA Barbers.
