go to the newest listing and gmain Sheri Stonetag. She has a lot of TN Dye s including my line that came from Thomas Dye in North Farnham, VA that a Barber paid a bastard fine for.
I know that some stayed in TN, some went to MO, and some went to TX.My Delbert Dye moved to what is now the Monroe/Louden/McMinn county line in TN following his older brother John
part of my family tree
6-11 Henry Dye.(Gilbert Dye5-13)was the son of Henry Dye born to (7-13) 1771 Chester, Chester County SC. Died Apr. 14 1808 in Rutherford County, NC.He moved his family in 1799 to Rutherford Co, NCWe have records of him and his family. In the court records their last name is spelled Digh by a clerk. He married 1785
6-12.Anna Washborne born Jul 18, 1771 South Carolina died Aug 10, 1853 less then three months after arriving in Ozark County, MO.She is buried in the Herndon Cemetery, Ozark County Missouri.
1820 you will see Anna Webber living next door to John Dye on the Census, this is because, Anna had remarried to Casper Webber, we have a deed of gift to prove this and he died about 1818 and is buried with his 1st wife in SC.
Anna then bought and sold some property on Rosses Creek, Rutherford, NC in the 1830s and then moved in with her youngest son Gilbert and moved to Spartanburg SC near other family in 1840, before they went with John to McMinn Co, TN
Henry Dye and Anna Washborne had
A.John Dye 1794 in Chester County, SC who sold his land in Rutherford County, NC about 1847 and moved to McMinn Co, TN with his 2nd wife Ailey He died 1870 in Grundy County, TN The rest of the family came to live near him in McMinn, TN.
B.Sarah Dye born 1790 Chester County, SC died 1816 Span, Johnson County, Georgia, USA Married a Mr. Scoggins,
C.William Dye, Twin of Thomas born 1799
D.Thomas Dye twin of William born 1799 died 1884 in Madisonville, Monroe County, Tennessee
E.Agnes Dye born 1801 Rutherford County, NC, died 1894 Lattimore, Cleveland County,North Carolina, USA Married a Mr. Ramsey
All the children except John Dye ran into financial trouble and were forced off their land. John, who sold his about 1847 and moved to McMinn Co, TN with his 2nd wife Ailey
----------------
The James son of John may be John Dye's son from Grundy County. He is known to have had a son named James and the family says he moved somewhere in MS and died there. It is also possible your John could be the son of my John.
My John Dye is supposed to have had children with two wives from about 1720-1770
