Sarah Dye/Martin Dye conflict resolution
Posted by: Jack Danel (ID *****6781) Date: April 08, 2010 at 20:30:29

There seem to be unresolved differences in the postings about Sarah and her father Martin. Is this a possible resolution (all dates approximate):

1. Sarah the mother of Thomas (1721) was born about 1700. The father of Thomas was probably Charles Barber Jr. who posted "bastard bond".

2. Sarah 1700's father was Martin. There seem to be two Martins: 1635 and 1671, father and son.

3. Martin 1635 was married to Margaret Sisson 1653 who died about 1692. Therefore she is too old to be the mother of Sarah 1700 and was already dead.

4. Margaret did have a daughter Sarah born about 1669. This Sarah is too old to be the mother of Thomas 1721.

Therefore we deduce that the mother of Thomas 1721 is Sarah 1700, and the father of Sarah 1700 is Martin 1671, not Martin 1635 as is commonly posted on the internet.

Can anyone confirm or disprove this conjecture?
