I, too, am a descendent of Jehu Jackson Styles Murray and Sabra Dyess, through their son, William Darley Murray and 2nd wife, Marena Arnold. I have some information on this family, but now am unsure about the parentage of Sabra Dyess. According to all of the Folks Huxford publications and files which I have seen, Sabra is shown as a daughter of Henry Dyess and Winnifred Boyett.
Recently I came across data in the genforum which strongly indicates that Sabra was the daughter of John Dyess and his first wife, a GREEN, first name now unknown who was a daughter of John Green and Sabra ??? of South Carolina. ( Henry Dyess and John Dyess were brothers.) Sabra and her husband John (Jehu) Murray inherited from John Dyess and Sabra named her first born son, John Green Murray. If Sabra has been mislinked to Henry Dyess, as appears to be the case, we certainly need to get her properly connected to her birth parents. I would be interested in getting to know other Dyess and Murray cousins and sharing information which I have. I look forward to hearing from you.
