Thank you Herbert,

The James Dyess that died in 1860, I believe, was married to Mira Jane Burk. When he died, she married David Pearce. I show they came from Bienville, Louisiana in 1864 to Texas, Bell County. Mira Jane Burk was my great great grandmother's sister. Her name was Mary Elizabeth Burk. Their sister was Louisiana America Burk. There was also another sister, Amanda Burk. I believe she married James Patton Dyess's brother, John Jackson Dyess. (I believe that was his name. I do not have my notes in front of me.) Please contact me at bdenise531@aol.com if you don't mind sharing information. I really appreciate your response.
Melinda
