Joan I found more info. about your PA. Dyesses. This may be old news to some. This came from a PA. newspaper: Bucks Co. Gazette, Bristal PA. Aug 22, 1901.
(1) Rev G. Dyess resigning his Rector position at All Saints P. E. Church. (2) Did not note newspaper name; Dec 19, 1913 - Rev. Dr. George McKallip Dyess professor of History Univ. of Pitt. & Rector of Holey Innocents, Leenchburg was found dead in his bed. Apparently died in his sleep. He had been Rector of All Saints Church 1900 - 1902.
I have not idea of his line. Perhaps someone on the forum can help.
