Hi, I am not certain but I think those Dyke's lived in Culpepper co., too. I beleive E. Rowland has a lot of info. on those Dyke's. Look for her name either at this forum or at the Dyke's forum. Hers were in Tenn. but started in Virginia. Do you know of any connections to Illinois families. I had a C.G. Dike who had a Mrs. Rebecca Jones living with him in 1880, Ky, she was born. 1830, TN.
I also know of Aaron Dyke who married Mrs. Cordelia Jones in Sangamon co, Il. Some surnames connected to other southern Il. Dyke's are Hill, Castleberry, Houston, Rigger, Gunter, Kennady, Ross --- just to name a few. I am sure those Dyke's were from Va and Tenn. mostly. Thanks, Janice
