Researching Joseph/Joel Dyke from England
Hi all,
I'm currently researching Joseph & Joel Dyke from the North of England.
First off;
Joseph Dyke
I suspect Joseph would have been born around 1770 (though this is a guestimate) in somewhere such as Stafford, Shropshire or Cumbria. He married Elizabeth Faulkner in 1793 at St Peter's Church in Wolverhampton. They had two children; Joseph Dyke and Elizabeth Dyke.
Onto their son Joseph. He changed his name later in life to Joel, hence Joseph/Joel in the title of this post.
Joseph/Joel was born in Feb 1798 in Ellesmere, Shropshire and Baptised on March 3 1798 in Tettenhall, Stafford. He married Mary Campbell (daughter of Owen Campbell and Hannah Davies) on 18 Feb 1828 at St Nicholas' Church, Liverpool. Together they had 9 children (all born around Toxteth Park, West Derby, Liverpool): Joseph, John, Edward, Hannah Maria, Samuel, Benjamin, Owen, Emma Jane and Mary.
The children were all christened with the surname Dykes and not Dyke.
If anyone thinks they can help out, or has come across something similar in their research please drop me a line, or visit my family tree site at http://www.danieldykes.com/familytreehttp://www.danieldykes.com/familytree
Cheers!
